Lake Voices Honour Choir: The Lake Voices Honour Choir, directed by Mr. Roddy, is having auditions for next school year! Lake Voices is an auditioned choir sponsored by Halifax Regional Arts for any student who will be in grades 4-7 in September. The choir meets on Mondays during the school year from 4:00pm-5:30pm at Cavalier Dr. School in Sackville and gives performances during the year throughout HRCE. The choir is completely free, and anything students need will be provided for them.
If your student is interested, and please send Mr. Roddy an email at michael.roddy@hrce.ca He will schedule a time during the school day for your student to come audition in the music room. The audition is very low pressure! Students will be asked to sing Happy Birthday, and a few simple vocal exercises.
Yearbook Sales: In case you need a reminder – you have until tonight to order a yearbook through SchoolCash.
Important Bus Loop/Drop off Information: If you are dropping off your child in the morning, please park at the bottom of the hill and have them walk up using the sidewalk. Avoid using the parking area on the hill—this area is reserved for staff and poses a safety risk for students crossing while vehicles are coming up.
Additionally, please wait until after 8:00 AM to enter the bus loop, as school buses will be arriving up until that time.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe!
Spring – Friday, June 7 from 5:00 – 8:00
Volunteers Needed: https://volunteersignup.org/MPRFX
Donations for Cake Walk: Cake donations are needed! If you can help donate a cake/cupcakes, please sign up on the volunteer list using the link above.
Prizes: Small prize items are needed for the prize table, some examples are little toys, Pokemon cards and sport cards. Please drop off any prize donations to the school or send with your child.
Supervision: As a reminder, parents should be supervising (or asking another adult to supervise) their child(ren) during the Spring Fling.
Parking during Spring Fling: The upper parking lot will be closed off during the Spring Fling, starting at 3:30. We need this space for the food trucks and so that the bouncers can be set up. We appreciate your understanding!
Frosty Fridays: Starting this Friday, the PTA will be providing frozen popsicle treats (dairy-free and gluten-free) for all students. However, since many field trips are taking place on Fridays, students will receive their rest of their treats on Wednesdays.
