What’s Happening at Holland Road Elementary– May 12

News

Class Placement for September 2025: The placement of students for the next grade level is a process that we take very seriously and involves a team, including your child’s current teacher, admin and resource/LC teachers.  To create balanced classrooms, we take many factors into consideration such as academic abilities, personalities, cooperative groupings, gender, friendships and class size.  We do not take teacher requests, however, if you have a concern / friendship issue that we need to know about for when we prepare class lists, email kwest@hrce.ca by Friday, May 16th.

Volunteering with Us:  Some parents have been inquiring about chaperoning for field trips.  In order to do so, there are volunteer background checks that need to be done.  Please go to our website to access the process under, For Students & Family, Useful Links, Volunteer With Us:

You will need the Child Abuse Register Check (No Fee) and a Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (Discount with School Letter)If proceeding, please e-mail Mrs. Carter (wcarter@hrce.ca) to prepare our school letter to accompany your CRC with VS request. Once you receive the required documentation, please provide Mrs. Carter with a copy of both reports.  Your cleared reports will be valid for three years effective from the issue date.

We look forward to you volunteering at Holland Road Elementary School!
