Retirement Notice: After many years in education, I am sharing that I will be retiring from my role as principal at the end of this school year. It has been a privilege to work with such a dedicated staff, supportive families, and wonderful students. I feel very lucky to be ending my career at Holland Road Elementary, and I am grateful for the time I’ve had in this school community and the relationships built along the way. I will ensure a smooth transition for the new principal, once selected, to support continuity for staff and students.
Holland Road Elementary Yearbooks: Our grade 5 students have been working hard on this year’s Holland Road Yearbook. You can purchase a copy through SchoolCash. (You most likely have received this notification if you've signed up for SchoolCash).
Important Note: Some families received a publication consent form, which is required for students to have their photo included in the yearbook. If you have not already done so, please return the form so we can ensure your child is included.
Virtual PTA Spring Fling Meeting: There will be a virtual PTA meeting on Wednesday at 8:00 to begin planning for this year’s Spring Fling, taking place on June 5. They are looking for volunteers to help both with planning and with supporting activities on the day of the event. A strong level of participation is needed to make this a successful and enjoyable event for our students and families.
If you can help in any way, please consider joining the meeting.
Autism Acceptance Month: Autism Acceptance Month celebrates and honours the experiences and identities of Autistic individuals. The focus goes beyond awareness – it’s about fostering true understanding, inclusion and meaningful support.
You may have noticed our bulletin board, which was thoughtfully created by Naphtali, a former Holland Road Elementary student and now a remarkable high school student. She has dedicated her time and energy to designing and setting up bulletin boards in a number of schools, helping to promote greater awareness and understanding of Autism in a powerful and personal way.
Grade 5 Closing: We’re happy to invite families to our Grade 5 Closing on Friday, June 26 at 12:00. It’s a chance to celebrate our grade 5 students as they finish up their time at Holland Road Elementary and get ready for the exciting next chapter.
