Autism Acceptance Theme Days - Mon. Apr. 25 - Fri Apr. 29 (last week of Autism Acceptance Month)

Magnificent Mind Monday – Autism is a neurological variation which means the brains of autistic people work differently than neurotypical people.  Celebrate the worlds amazing neurodiversity by wearing a fun hat or hair accessory.

Neurodiversity Tuesday – To celebrate the beauty in the diverse spectrum of the human mind, wear rainbow and/or tie-dye clothes to school

What’s Your Passion Wednesday – One amazing characteristic of autism is to show a focused passion for topics of interest.  What are you passionate about? Dress to show something you love!

Autism Colour Day (Thursday)– Show your love to the Autism Community by wearing something RED!!

Sensory Friendly Friday – Autistic people often have a variety of sensory sensitivities.  Dress up today in your most comfy clothes….including your softest PJs.

Safe Arrival System

If you haven’t had to use our new safe arrival system yet, there are 3 ways to report your child’s absence:

School Messenger App – easy to download but you’ll need your username and password for the PowerSchool Portal

Phone Call - 1-833-582-6940 (toll free)

PowerSchool Parent/Student Portal – log in to https://sishrsb.ednet.ns.ca/public/ 

Absences can be reported at any time up until 8:00 am on the day your child will be absent.  Up to 5 consecutive absences can be recorded at once, so for more days, either report later or call the school.  For students who will be late, record as Absent with Notification and we will change it to Late once they arrive. 

Thank you to our wonderful team of volunteers who helped with safe arrival prior to this new system.  We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our volunteers, including Tara Bryne, who has coordinated the program for many years. We appreciate the time you all spent in helping it run smoothly and to ensure the safety of our children !
